Our 4-step framework is an easy-to-use, purposefully designed methodology to help drive results.

 
 

The typical timeline

Most customers will follow this timeline.

  • In month 1, we accomplish the comprehensive roadmap.

  • In month 2, we focus on completing the messaging and positioning for your ideal customer. At the end of this phase, you will have your detailed content and campaign launch plan.

  • In months 3 and on, this is where we develop our perpetual content engine for you. This phase and the months after include creating and/or repurposing content to be used in a variety of different ways to reach your audience.

  • In month 4 and beyond, this phase is where the magic happens and we launch marketing campaigns.

It is not required that you do all phases, however, we must always begin with strategy. So, let’s go build your roadmap.

Roadmap

We begin all new client projects with a strategy engagement. It begins with discovery and ends with the delivery of a personalized and actionable marketing plan.

Our goal with your roadmap is to identify the business outcome you need to achieve i.e., what’s your revenue target for the program and reverse engineer your marketing program to get you there.

This project includes detailed conversations about your customer. We want to understand the products and services that you sell, audience segments, the history of your sales and marketing activities, and what the competition looks like in your market.

We match this with additional research on your market, how we can reach your potential customers, document our recommended strategy and outline the plan of action.

At the end of this project, you will have everything you need to launch whether you use our help with the next steps or parts of the next steps or even at all.

 

GTM Messaging

In this step, we will develop your ideal customer profile (ICP) and persona. Next, we will share a one-pager for you listing ‘who we help and how’ that outlines how you create value for your buyers, where we can find more of those buyers and keywords that describe your ideal customer.

Finally, we will map your content strategy (what specific items we will use or create to support your new messaging) to your campaign plans which include the types of distribution channels and types of marketing campaigns that will drive the desired outcomes.

 

Essential Content Development Plan

Now we need to focus on producing the content that is critical to your growth strategy. This may include repurposing existing content into a variety of formats for use across different channels. For example, take a YouTube video and create 4 social posts, a blog post and add them to a nurture email campaign.

Your new content will likely include updated website copy, a dedicated FAQ page, better SEO strategy, email scripts, Skyscraper landing pages, blogs, explainer videos, newsletters, ad campaigns, and other relevant copy that is needed.

 

Campaign Management

In this final step of our framework, we are launching all the content we have been creating/producing according to our plan.

Campaign management includes creating and sending newsletters, nurture email campaigns, event demand creation, launching landing pages, creating FAQs, social media content, and paid ads.

This phase is exciting where we begin to see the reward and revenue impact of the work we’ve done.

You wouldn’t open a new store or start a new business and magically expect customers to find you. This is the time to invest in launching your brand awareness. You will typically see results in months - there will be leading indicators we are reviewing, and ultimately measuring success against the revenue targets we set in the roadmap.

We want to capture demand. To capture buyers who are in the market right now so they can find and buy from you. This is likely a small percentage but we will make sure this is working all the time in the background for you.

We want to create demand. This is where we will use the content created to proactively reach ideal customers. We will demonstrate your thought leadership, educate buyers, answer common questions and objections, share customer success, and drive demo requests and meetings.

We recommend a minimum of 6 months to see the benefits of campaigns.


What does success look like?

Marketing-sourced revenue is what success looks like for our clients.

We will track metrics like website traffic, new followers, brand awareness as marketing KPIs but ultimately we are focused on tracking the results of more marketing-sourced revenue opportunities for you.

We will work with your tech stack ( we have experience in Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo, and Hubspot) as well as a variety of other CRM and Martech tools so we can effectively track the data to show impact and make adjustments in your program as necessary.


When should you see results?

Typically within a couple of months of launching, we will see leading indicators that tell us what is working in the program. Obviously many variables can affect results from one client to the next including:

  • Size of your audience

  • Price point of your solution

  • Existing brand awareness

  • Level of investment in media spend and ongoing management

But typically by five to six months into campaign launching, you will see a meaningful increase in marketing-sourced revenue.


What if I already have this information from Smartegies?

With our affiliate relationship with Smartegies, you may have already completed much of this work in steps 1 - 3. Therefore, our focus will be more on how we can help you create, manage, audit, and/or expand existing digital marketing efforts.
